Help me out ! Can I take my dashpot off ? *PIC
I controls the idle speed in conjunction with the IACV, Hooked up correctly you will see it moving the throttle body to maintain a smooth idle. Now of course if you want to unhook it and have a less than perfect idle for something that costs you no power go right ahead. It will run without it, just not quite as well.
Hell mine was broke off on my b18a intake manifold when I got it and I notcie no "rough idle".
The place where they did my swap didn't bother with it.
At first,I told to myself"Oh men!,I'm missing that dashpot....I couldn't drive and have a driveable car????)
Well,it's been one year since the swap has been made.
I was driving in the winter too.
All I can say is,personnaly,I didn't miss it or need it.Idle is ok.No rough idle,no low idle,no erratic idle.No idle at all!!!! j/k
My motor is stock. No cam,no nothing.

Well if things are adjusted right it will work without, it will just idle better under all conditions with it on. try looking on http://www.hondacrx.co.uk/ under downloads, they have manuals for the Euro spec Si and SiR (B16A1) models, it will have the vacume diagrams and everything you need to know. And a lot you wish you didn't. And I may just pass emissions a little easier with it, for those who have to go through that ritual every so often.

I must agee w/ Virginia_Dude.
If you have emission test,it is wise to keep it!
Just in case...
Here, that's not a problem for now.
But,it not that far......

No problem. Glad to pass on some stuff I learned myself. Was SO happy when I found these myself. Factory manual will be more accurate than info that has been passed down from person to person. My hat is off to the person who scanned and created these files whereever he may be. Since Niether the ZC or the B16A1 was sold in the USA. And these two manuals cover both engines in English.

two.oh has it right. without the dashpot, be prepared to restart your car often - it'll die at stoplights depending on engine load (lights on, A/C, air temp, engine temp, etc).
Can anyone send me a pic of where they connected it please ??? THANKS
it connects to your intake tube.
it connects to your intake tube.
yup..and most aftermarket intake tubes don't have a hole for it.
Just dropped a B16A motor in and i have the same problem. want to be able to plug it in the stock intake. does anyone know how to fabricate that or where i can get the part to stick the hose in?
