JDM SiR-G = USDM GS-R

I dunno about the front, but if it is anything similar to our trim levels, they Type-R probably just has a front lip.

The headlights are different. The ITR has black housings, while the SiR-G has chrome.

this is true except for power, I have been talking to an HT member from NZ who says it makes 180hp...( vs the 170 a usdm gsr makes)

I thought you could get chrome w/ a type r front....in theory then you could make a jdm type r front with a sir-g front....i dunno if you would save money?

also didn't the sir-g also come in a usdm front style(in japan)? if you go to passwordjdm.com they have to different fronts for the jdm sir-g( or is that just a usdm gsr front)

ITR is black, and has the option of either halogen or HID projectors (each version has a slightly unique appearance).

The SiR-G conversions being sold also generally do not include a lip, thus reducing the cost.

Very early Integras came with the four round headlamps like our USDM cars, but the styling did not appeal to the Japanese market, so the "JDM" front end was introduced.

no you cant get chrome housing for the type r. besides it looks ugly. black housing looks best.

and no the sir-g didnt come with the usdm front. whats the point of using a usdm front on a japanese car in japan??? no use its stupid

to OP: get the jdm type r front.

good question. im not really sure about why they do that. all i know is that the jdm front is different than the usdm. and that they dont have the usdm front in japan. i know the ukdm front is similar to the usdm but also has some minor differences. like the foglights.

I knew Japan has the usdm style fronts, because you can go to any import website(exporters from japan) and find usdm style fronts.

First, I didn't write what you have me quoted as saying - GSRdude did.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by yc_dc4mar &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and no the sir-g didnt come with the usdm front. whats the point of using a usdm front on a japanese car in japan??? no use its stupid</TD></TR></TABLE>

The Integra was available for a short time with the four-headlight front end. It wasn't a "USDM" front end, it was the "Integra" front end until the Japanese market got a redesigned front. If you don't have your facts straight, you should refrain from posting.

Don't forget that the ITR fenders are thicker than the lower models.

No, those are the only differences.

This is news to me. I'm curious what your source is on this.

ditto, that wouldn't make sense, because, it would cost more money, only for one different model.

I think he may be confusing the front fenders with the rear quarter panels, which were rumoured to be thicker than lower-model Integras. They were measured, but I don't recall if there was ever a definitive conclusion on the matter. The thicker steel would make sense in that location, since it contributes to the unibody strength, however the front fenders are essentially purely cosmetic, and there would be no reason to increase material thickness on them other than dent-resistance.

I must say, this has been an incredibly informative thread.

oh to the OP. good choice on the SiR-G, since you already have the front lip. That way you don't get something you don't need. You can always sell your chrome housing headlights to someone, when your ready for your black housings. good choice on HIDs also(Im sure it wasnt a hard choice).

Gl and let us know how it goes.
