question about warming up....

Default question about warming up....

the car is a 1995 gs-r 195k on the clock i just recently bought it.. the car has a horrible problem warming up... once it starts to get about half way to normal operating temptature and i start driving it.. it wants to start cooling off....and it also doesnt have heat ? anyone got any ideas????

woulda bad thermostat cause it to cool off like that???

yes because when your car is parked but on idling, its not getting airflow to the radiator and the motor is just heating up. when u start moving the air is flowing, and the water is just running straight through the motor when the thermo is open. in result the cold temp and loss of heat

did u have heat before? heat could be other things too like the heater box under the passanger side dash is stuck closed

well i would start off with changing the thermostat. autozone sells them for like 20$ with a new gasket. i have one and its legit. car is fully warmed up in 5 minutes. i had the same problem as you. only takes like 20 mins to change

yea i work at advance auto parts i have a thermo and the gasket gonna do it and my brakes 2moro

I am having the opposite problem as you. My car will heat up (temp gauge) but doesn't blow any warm air till I start moving. Once I stop at a light then the air cools off agian till I move the car.
I am changing my thermostat tomorrow as well.
