Just wondering what it could be? Metal contact for the 1 position corroded? It's an all original 89 dx CRX. Best way to remedy? Is it serviceable?
Random question also. cooling fan (Radiator fan) runs constant since I bought the car. What normally fails? Fan relay, coolant temp sensor, or thermo-fan switch (read something about that in the Haynes). There is a CRX at the pick and pull I could go buy the relay from.

Your resistor is shot. You can find it attached to the blower motor housing. Take your glovebox off, to the right you will see the blower housing and a plate that is screwed into it. The plate has two screws holding it in and a 4 wire harness coming out of it. Unclip the wiring harness, undo the screws, and it'll pop right out. Replace with a new one.

Information on the resistor - Blower Motor Only Works On Setting 3 & 4?

Yay, something to do at the pick and pull!
Thank you guys very much. This search function is hit or miss. I've typed stuff in from threads I've JUST READ and they don't come up!
Also, who do we talk to to get this place organized a little bit? Engine/Trans, Electronics, Brakes/Suspension, etc... Would help... mr2oc.com has a good setup.

I'd HIGHLY recommend not doing that, and getting a brand, spankin' new one at the dealership. It's only about 30 bucks, if prices haven't jumped too much. Otherwise, you'll just be doing this again soon, and waste your money.

Who needs "setting 1" anyway? Just use 2 if you're needing air moved. It's not like we have comfort cruisers anyhow.
