Default Offset question

Well I was looking at some 15" slipstream. Well I a 6th gen. and I was wondering a +40 offset would be good enough? Would it clear the caliper? They are 15x7, 4x100 +40. What do you guys think? Thanks guys.

the short answer: NO

it seems to me you are not getting the picture so here we go.

let's say your stock set up is around 55 with 6.5 inch, if you are getting something 15x6.5/7 inch with 40 et, the wheel will stick out 15mm than your old set up.

and you ask why they do that. the reason is simple, most of the universal aftermarket wheels are wider than oem, the extra 15mm is here to balance out the added .5inch.

so what does it mean? i asked about my caliper you bastard! well, if you have a basic visual in your head, if your wheels sticks out 15mm, it shouldn't catches anything.

so what's the verdict? it will clear the caliper just fine.

oh great! but the wheels wouldn't fit for sh-t because the lug pattern is 114.3mm not 100mm
