Oh Crap! My vitara's wont are too small for my z6 :(
this morning i had dropped off some parts to go into my build, which included a set of standard size vitara's and some eagle rods.
i just got a call from my builder and hes telling me that the clearance to the cylinder wall is too small! its something like 0.003 off from what it should be, if i installed these then i would be getting a rattle in the engine.
has this happened to anyone before? anyone wanna trade me for a set of oversized vitara's???
what are the benefits of going with an oversized pistons anyways?

so that you can get the correct piston to wall clearance. the reason that your standard sized vitaras don't fit right is because you are probably trying to put them in a worn out 100k+ mile block. the cylinder bore has been worn out past the original 75mm (probably something like 75.25mm) just from years of use.
with oversized pistons, you bore to just slightly bigger than the pistons you are going to run.
