Default Battery Ground corrosion

So i searched the archives and everyone seems to get corrosion on their (+) terminal but not their (-)...well i have corrosion on my (-) cable where it connects to the battery, its not the post itself but rater the outside of the connector attaching to the post so every couple of weeks I clean it off any ideas why the corrosion comes back so frequent? Do i need a better ground, or a new battery? Some history and car specs incase it helps...99 ex swapped with a b16b (no corrosion before swap)

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Some corrosion naturally collects around the battery. Electrolyte condensation contains corrosive sulfuric acid, which eats away the metal of battery terminals, cable ends and battery holddown parts. To clean away the corrosion, use a mixture of baking soda and water, and wash all the metal parts around the battery, being careful not to allow any of the mixture to get into the battery (batteries with top cell caps and vents). Rinse with water. Remove the battery cables from the battery (negative cable first), wire brush the inside of the cable end and the battery post. Reinstall the cables (negative end last). Coat all exposed metal parts( paint or grease can be used) so that the sulfuric acid cannot get on the metal.</TD></TR></TABLE>
usually a sign of the type of metal used on the terminal or the direction of the vent on the battery. Not a big deal either way.
Something to think about... since I went to an optima battery I have had zero terminal corrosion. (8+ years)
