MY rear right caliper is seizing. This happened before but I fixed it and now its happening again. I am planning to change them both. Are autozone Calipers good enough or same quality as oem?

 

Those calipers are usually remanufactured OEM units. They replace the seals and piston, plus give it a nice shine. I would save the money and go with them.

I second that

 

+3 on those calipers.....plus they come with a lifetime warranty...so you're covered as long as you own the vehicle

 

you could have another problem with your brake system.

+4 that. I've been running like that for about 8 months now, still good

 

i have the same problem. right rear caliper is frozen...autozone wants like 75 bucks + core charge for a new caliper...

well is your caliper actually locking up .....like...permanantly?

cuz if its just seizing in use and releasing later it could be problems in the lines or your combination valve in the master cylinder.

im no expert but it just seems kinda odd that youd be experiencing the same problem with 2 diff. calipers.

 

he didnt say it was a new caliper.

you might be thinking i changed it. No, I didnt, I just got it pressed back in or whatever they did. Now i see the right brake pad is worn more then the left. I am going to go with the autozone or pepboys calipers and change the pads and rotors

got both calipers changed today..bleed the brakes twice and still my pedal pressure is a bit low and sinks a bit far down sometimes....Do i need a brake booster also?

Keep bleeding. Did you cap the rear lines when you removed the calipers? If not, there is much air in the system. Did you bleed the rear brakes first and the the fronts?

 

yeah u gotta keep bleeding more than twice... allow each caliper one at a time to gravity bleed for like 10 minutes each side. just to be on the safe side that theres no air in the lines. another cause for calipers to seize is the guide pins, always make sure they're well lubricated so the caliper slides freely!
