Default 215/50R15 on 15x6 (LS Web) possibility?

Hey winners I'm preparing my car for road racing class in the summer. I was wondering if anyone have ran 215/50R15 tires on a set of 15x6 and what's ur experience? What tires are good at that size I was thinking the BFGoodrich G-Force.

I'm lowered 2.5" on H&R Race and Koni Yellow.

Thanks,
J

They will be bowed out a lot which will likely cause mushy steering feel, but it's definitely possible. I had 205 street drag radials on my 14 x 5.5" stockers for a little while.

the old 'E-stock' crx days.
yes, you can put a 215 on a 6" wide rim. it will fit and will not be unsafe.

The only tires available in 215/50-15 are really crappy, like the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport, which is a LOW performance (crappy) tire that I would never recommend taking on the track. Oh, and that size will also rub (and even worse on a lowered car).

A good tire in 205/50-15, like the Falken Azenis RT-615, will easily give you much, much, MUCH better performance than the 215/50 BFG.

Remember, differences between tires (i.e. tire makes/models) are almost always much more significant than differences in treadwidth.

Because I know people who have tried it and found out that it rubs.

For most EK's which originally ran a 185/65R14 the nearly exact equivalent is a 195/55R15. There are a lot of options in this size. For weekend warriors something like a Eagle GT is a fine choice at a competitive price point.
