Default Best options for struts?

Ya, I searched, but most people use strut interchangeable with shock.

#1.. I know Koni has inserts, but is that going to be my only option? Is fabbing an
extension of some type so I can use complete sets for a civic/teg out of the question? I
would really like to be able to get some as a set rather than mix and match. Especially as Koni's aren't the cream of the crop (or are they?). I want options for later.

#2.. I did find this under search, from '08..

Can anyone confirm/deny that? Would a rear bar benefit me?

Also, I am curious to get some of your impressions of my rear suspension.
The strut is a sky scraper at >2ft (very rough measure). The lower arm is also a monster at just shy of 24". (ignore the wip and temp, I need to get the car moveable)

Can I say that this isn't the worst of possible macstrut setups? The long arms reduce the camber changes under compression. The only truly bad thing is a 1 piece rotor/tapered bearing. I am looking into a possible switch a sealed unit like the rear bearing/spindle of a civic.

Where's gran???

You have other options besides koni (which is a very good option), but Koni is the "cheapest" of the Great shocks out there.

Ya, I've talked to gran on pp, but he isn't around consistently. He is having his own issues atm with the rear rotors grenading.

Gonna bump this before I settle on my plans and finally let myself stop obsessing about this. I've been reading and measuring on this stuff every spare moment for a solid 2 weeks and my brain needs a break.
I will be measuring my suspension this weekend and calculating ratios and springs.

I really like the DIY idea behind Bilsteins, I am very hands on with this car and I would experiment with them, but the so few options to begin with pushes me away. So.. I am at this point 99% confident I will be going with EF 8041's in the front and 8611's in the rear, giving me SPSS3 all around with minimal customizing needed, really just leaving the top perches to figure out. I was looking at these to redrill http://performanceshock.com/noltec/c...ra-strut-mount, but is a free floating top mount worth have on a rear strut?
The trailing rods will be replaced with heims, and I could potentially do the same with the lower arm, but I haven't come up with another way to attach the roll bar yet.

I am also still wondering about the rear strut bar for struts comment above.
