OT: The most dangerous road cars of all time...
Sorry for the OT, but what better place to discuss a gritty, taboo automotive topic, but the ITR forum.
From the latter half of the 20th century up until now, the automotive world has turned out some very exciting, yet very dangerous road cars.
Some bordered on total irresponsibility on the manufacturers part, while insurance companies cringed and prepared to write huge checks.
Here are my top ten candidates for the "best way to turn yourself into a road pizza" club.
And remember folks this is just my opinion, even though some of these vehicles are already notoriously dangerous.
1. Renault R5 Turbo II
2. Renault R5 Copa Turbo (mass-produced FWD wanna-be of the car above, just imagine being pulled by a runaway freight train with shitty brakes and even less crash protection)
3. Porsche 930 Turbo ('78-'94, before the liquid cooled, AWD dentist haulers of today)
4. Ariel Atom
5. Dodge Tomahawk (technically a bike, but has 4 wheels and a viper v10)
6. Big block Cobra replica kit cars
7. Any big block Vette from the 60's
8. Neon SRT-4 (I know about too many of these being wadded up for it to be a coincidence)
9. T-rex (gixxer-meets-go-kart)
10. Any Ford model T with a blown Chrysler Hemi over a front-end running on bicycle tires and a straight highboy axle.
Anyone wanna add their picks to the list?

Uhh.. what makes you think you are going to be "road pizza" in an ariel atom? the whole car is practically a roll cage.. it has amazing brakes, wonderful visibility. I'd say it's an incredibly safe car.. please elaborate.
Good list other than that, and btw. I googled the Dodge Tomahawk - JESUS CHRIST, you mean to tell me that thing is street legal??? anyone who rides on that is just asking to die.

When it rolls and turns your face into a paint brush. Yeah, that might do it.

I always thought there was a roll bar at the top of the intake of the atom to prevent your face from turning into a paint brush?
Isn't that a steel bar above the intake?

Just make sure you keep your head pressed firmly against the headrest in the event of a 160mph roll.

In 2005, Dodge decided to sell 10 versions at US$550,000 each through Neiman Marcus. While the Tomahawk is not street legal, it could, theoretically, be ridden. The Tomahawk, as sold, is missing a few trivial parts necessary to make it a running bike. Dodge has done some minimal testing on the first bike built, and then COO Wolfgang Bernhardt drove it onto the stage at the Detroit Auto Show. The Tomahawk is officially sold as a "rolling sculpture" to show the Viper engine.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Despite many people living thru their crash in the ITR, I'd say it's a pretty danergous car. For a noobie, having that *** swing can get a driver in some serious trouble.

A friend I went to high school w/ owns a shop dedicated to exotic cars. One of his toys is a (modified) Porsche 930 turbo. The car is leterally wicked fast! Not for a novice to drive.

Thats why the car comes factory with a Racing Harness, and they advise you wear a helmet. I think the Ariel Atom is a reasonably safe car. (compared to motorcycles)
