i was readin the new super street(june 02) and saw the orange signal RSX, and i read its description, and it had some Tein's on it, and long before i was thinkin about gettin those a while back, but decided i should go to somthin less expensive(whenever i gets the money!) but i did research on teh teins, went to the website, got a price for a set...$1090 for EF styles, then i gotta get the ITR or HF CRX rear lower control arm(any one gots any prices on those or where to get em?!) ever since i read about em, ive been gettin hyped up again to gets some! but i asked my cousin's wut they thought, and they said they were to expensive, for my type of pay!(^_-)* and that i can get some tokico illumina R's that work jus as good, and that Tein's r for hard core! racing use like in laguna seca races and other hardcore races.....but i liked em for its wide array of suspension tuning...can be fixed for racing and street use with its 16 way adjustable settings...,i am once again hyped up to savin some money up for some, but it wont be a while till i finally make a decision on wut suspension i should use( still needa get my B16!), and teins sound good to me!...but than again, im not gonna be a hardcore racer goin to compete in laguna seca!(^_-)* so jus wanna get some honda-tech opinions...thanks!
going with a good set of springs and shocks to match it is your best decision since you're not planning to go racing on laguna seca. get your B16 motor first...that's what i would do...what about you??
Tein is a very good company, and with them getting a place within the U.S. borders it makes it just that much better. Now if you ever have problems with your stuff you can send it to their shop in Cali. And you dont have to worry about sending it Japan to get fixed.
Tein has many different setups for All different kinds of users. If you are like most and are just looking to lower your car but still have to advantages of a great ride and the adjustiblity of coilevers, then the Tein SS's would be perfect.
If you are looking for somthing a little more aggresive, or plan on using your car for more then just daily driving, check out the HA's. They run a little more then the SS's. But have stiffer spring rates and some other nifty stuff i cant thing of right now
Once again, Tein makes some great stuff and has many differnt springs setups for many differnt condtions. So check out their site and then check your wallet.

Hope this helps.

Your first order of business should be to get some decent tires instead of worrying about which overpriced suspension setup you'll never take advantage of to get. You can have the spiffyest suspension ever and get your *** handed to you in the turns by a less-tuned car with better tires.
I think you want rear lca's from an 88 Civic/CRX. They're cheaper than then ITR ones and probably easier to find.
I'm 99% sure I'm right...but just double check with the person you buy your Tein-Suspenion from to make sure.
Good luck!

thanks dudes for the info and feedback..but yeah i gots a long ways till i think about upgrading my suspension....of course my main priority rite now is to get my B16 and set that baby in my car, but than again, givin my little car a bigger heart, i dont think it can handle such power, after being used to the sorry 70 HP's ive been dealin with the whole damn time since ive ever got it
, but yeah, i take in consideration that puttin such power, i now needa contain it, and reinforce my other stuff..ima take it easy and wait till i get a better brake system, followed by some rims and good tires, prolly use some 14's er somthin to ride around town on, and use another set for racing purpose only( ahem!..slipstreams...falken azenus....) and i can care less about teh body roll for that mean time, and take it easy in the turns i make or wutever...but until then, i'll finally decide about it and save up money...so u say the RA's r good?! kewl, i was thinkin about gettin the HA's and gettin pillow mounts, cuz if i read rite, they say the RA's were sorta for rally tuning, but its all good...i mite be wrong...and about teh LCA's, i think its time fer me to hit the junk yard in search for some of them! thanks for the info guys! till then, i'll see wut goes on my car whether i save some money and get jus as good suspenion for cheap, or go hardcore and spoil myself, or more like spoil my car

i have tein full race coilovers on my 89. i have the 88 civic lca's but i want those kick *** loocking aluminum ones up here a while back. my ride is really bouncy, but i dont have them set right and they are a little over a year and a half old. i also dont have the electronic damper adjustment...bitches had to get it after i got mine. i love them though, especially respectible since i bounce like woah on bumps...just not set right. lots of money but great cornering. cant wait to do some bushings and strut bars.
ZEAL man, TEIN are crap - if you wanna know more please ask alan at http://www.aj-racing.com thanks.
Education man, ignorance is crap. If you wanna know more, try http://www.endlessusa.com or http://www.tein.co.jp.
A lot of people i know have bad experience with tein's, for the price there are better setups....like ZEAL...or maybe even JIC, but i dont know much about JIC.
haahhaah..i knew it chris..welp...all i gotta say is get your freagin motor first...then your rims ..then your tires...then your intake header and exhaust.....oh yeah cant forget your beatmania games too...j/p well...i have those tanabe sustec dampers teamed with sustec super H's and boy....those are good enough....fer what youre gonna be doing, I really disagree on getting those expensive coilover systems....but the choice is yours...like someone said before...check their website and then check your wallet...
i have tein EK-9 TEIN HA's on my crx, traded them for skunk2 coilovers and stock GSR struts and gave him my rear disc off an SiR. they are really smooth not bouncy even when they are adjusted as low as it can go without the helper springs. i don't have anything bad to say about them other then they are steel and could rust.
Teins are good. A friend who races at Sepang said his lap times went down after he switched to Teins. For street use he says they're a little too stiff. Another friend fitted Teins to his AE101 Corolla and said they were too harsh for street use so he's switched to RS*R's now. Unfortunately they didn't tell me which model of Teins they were using. Right now I need suspension so I asked the racer dude (Kosmo Racing) to find me a used set of rebuildable shocks. I don't care if they're Teins, KYBs or SARD, as long as they're rebuildable. He tells me he can rebuild them for RM50 a piece (US$13).
TIEN is overrated JDM Bandwagon Bullshit.
JIC, ZEAL, SHOWA, VISION, APEXi, and more other companies feature wayyy better shocks than Tien's.

Stock Honda EF8 shocks are manufactured for Honda Motor Co. by Showa, the springs come from some Mitsubishi subsidiary unless I'm mistaken and the rubber stuff from somewhere else. The new Mugen Integra shocks are manufactured by Showa too. I believe Showa is a Honda subsidiary.

TEIN's are pretty good...but for the money...go w/ ZEAL. I have ZEAL 24way adjustable coming for my CRX which I'm going to build it for the circuit race (honda-challenge).

ah mmmmmm heheheh! u've discovered my little thread i got goin over here! jus had to do it! but i asked u first before i came here, so dont feel im puttin off ne negative vibes er somethin like that to my best tuner cousin!(^_^)!
but yeah, after hearin about tein's they sound good, yet, i DO have to cut back on money and jus gets some jus as good for cheap suspension......thanks for all the info dudes who responded, and i wanna point out nickgomez who gave me a little insight on how his friends use Tein's in races and say that it reduced their times down alot, and when they hit the streets, they found it too hard or too stiff, so that hit me hard to come to rethink that maybe these teins r'nt for wut i want....FOR NOW that is! unless ima be in some big hardcore race or so, ima save them tein's for till then( which is prolly rare in a lifetime) but for now, ima go look at them zeals since i saw they had some for street/autocross use, which sounds like my type of suspension area i wanna get at! thanks lot dudes!
feel free to post more info if yall wanna

The late, great Gene Berg (www.geneberg.com) once said, "Don't use your plow horse to race a race, and don't use your race horse to plow your field"
In other words, race tuning and street tuning are different, similar in some aspects but not EQUAL.

......which is y i overthought my idea of gettin teins, although i read theHA dampers can be adjusted to be street used and then tuned for racing, which sounded like a good idea, but then someone pointed out they were made of steel, and they mite rust, which i also heard the same problem over at the EG section( hey, i didnt go there, i used teh search thingy up in the corner!) so, yeah thanks for that anology and the insight!(^_^)! i think more than i take action, so things will be perfect once things r done...or try to be perfect!....for now, im hittin up a B16 for sale middle of next month, and install that baby in mah car!
