Really need help gsr swap
the car is a 1999 the motor it seems is a 1995 i was told it was a 1996 but the purge seloinod valve is telling me it is a 1995. so on to my question. the evap canister I know is different so I need to get one for a 1995, the one in the car does not have the third port for the number 7 hose off of the purge seloinod. is there a way around this or do I have to get another canister. also I was told this was a 1996 and it came out of a 1996, is there anything else, any sensors that need to be changed for everything to operate properly. what should I do? like I said it is a 1995 gsr motor in a 1999 shell. the car starts and runs, I can drive it. the idle jumps tremendously and it idles very high. but it starts right up and drives. i have to worry about emissions so please any help is needed.
you need to convert from obd2 to obd1, get a obd1 gsr ecu, obd1 manifold/throttle body and obd1 charcoal canister if your using that. and plug up the second o2 sensor. that sucks man what a headache. i would take it back and just get an obd2 motor. drop in affair. and if your using this for smog, u do know u cant smog a motor that is older than your car. must be same year or newer. or just hope the tech doesnt notice
well i bought the car this way. it is a 99 GSR and the shop said they put a motor from a 1996 in there. but when I looked at the selonoid it is the same as the 94-95 GSR's.
SO ALL I NEED IS THE CANISTER AND TO HOOK UP THAT NUMBER 7 HOSE AND I AM ALL SET?
