Default Time to spend some money..........

Tonight while on delivery, my integra died on me.I was yeilding onto the highway and when I shift from neutral to second and give it gas, at around 2k the motor bogs down and cuts off in the middle of the highway!! I very quickly got out and shamefully pushed my baby off the road.

I tried to start the car back but the car wouldnt start and the starter sounded very bad like scratchy(for lack of a better word atm). The motor was not turning over. There is a very slight shake at the first sec you try to start but thats it.

Now its sitting in a parking lot in days inn right by their office window.Im trying to decide to either tow it home or to the mechanic. The way it just died when it was running 100% fine, then dies 10 seconds later makes me think timming belt. The awful way that the starter sounds makes me think starter, although the starter wouldnt make the car just die would it?If the worse come to worse and the timming belt blew, could i be lucky and not bend valves seeing how I was only at 2k rpm?

I hope someone has had the same symptoms and cant tell me what to expect.Im waiting on the feedback to figure out if im getting it towed home or the shop. Thanx in advance.

Sounds like the timing belt went out. if so say goodbye to your head and valves.

But why would the starter sound like **** all of a sudden? My car had timing belt changed at 40k and im at 123k right now. Shouldnt that be under warranty? It was all done at a honda dealership.

Best thing would be to tow the car since your having problems diagnosing the problem at hand.. look at the service reconds to see if you are under warranty. if so then even better.

Well, today I got up early so I could check a few things on the car. I pulled the valve cover, and the timing belt is nice and tight and looks brand new.I pull the distributor cap, rotor looks brand new. Im thinking starter or something with the starter bc of the odd sound of it. Would the starter giving out make the car die while driving though?

Check ur grounds while ur at it, it's rare to just have one loosen up or come off on the highway but I've had it happen to me once b4 and was such a pain to diagnose and fix.

It doesn't seem like the starter would make the car die, but I would have the car diagnosed just to be sure.
