I was looking in to buying kyb agx struts and maybe skunk2 or ground control coil overs for my 91 crx. How would that setup be?

 

i rocked kybs and gc coilover sleeves for 3 years. loved them to death. cept my top hats were rusty and worn out so that sucked.

 

KYB's are ok, but if you are going lower than 2 inches I strongly suggest Koni yellows or at the very least Tokico Whites.

 

Yeah I was plaining on haveing the rims tucked I know it wont ride the best but looks the good. I was thinking about the koni yellow but the are so exspensive.

 

if on a budget kyb gr2's are good real cheap too.

hey sorry to bust into ur thread but i just bought some kyb agx's for my 90 crx. I payed 300 bucks for them but i have a slight feeling i might have gotten riped off. The shocks came in kyb agx boxes and there red and stamped kyp but they didnt come with the AGX black logo on them. The stickers with the AGX logo came in a little bag. Did i get beat or r the shocks supposed to come like this for ef?

 

How low do you have your rex and how good does it handle and ride?

 

ups just brought them to my house today. i will use k sport lowering springs on them...the drop is gonna be 2.5 in the front n 2.25 in the rear...

 

i guess we'll find out how its gonna handle as soon as i get the set up installed....ill take a turn hard n find out if their real agx's or not lol..j/p

 

I have had two friends that used them on there eg hatch and 2000 civic si it handle real good to I am not sure about the ef though I had bought the omni full suspension for my crx that is what I am useing right now but I did not do no research on them when I bought it I install them and find out that they do not really lower the car as much as I like it to and its only on the efs. So this time around I want to make sure I get some thing thats it gonna do what I want ride alright and be able to get the tires tucked.

 

what aftermarket shocks for a crx or civic actually lower the car or are they all the same size?

 

been rockin kyb agx struts and h&r oe springs since 2003 and im very pleased with them

 

I had KYB AGX's on my 99 Si with Eibach springs and was very happy with them. Sold that and am about to order some suspension for my 91 Hatch!!!!

 

zerons hell, what do you think of the oe springs, i am considering this setup but dont want the springs too soft, I'm told the H & R race springs are good.

 

what kind of coil-overs should I buy when I get the agx struts?

i heard springs would be stffer then coils. n since ur doing a shock/spring combo, not a full coilover/damper kit maybe ur better off getting some springs.

 

do the agx's actually lower the car any or are they same size as stock? maybe they have more room to compress and that lowers the car a little bit?

any experts around?

Struts do not control ride height. Only the springs control ride height.

 

Be careful because i believe if you do buy AGX or Yellows with GC you need to get a different sleeve than GC on other struts...anyone know for sure?
