Default LS VTEC power and 1/4 times

Ok guys, after doin a little research on the site and others i've decided to build an LS VTEC. I know there are several different ways to build them. (parts wise) So i'd like to know how much power you guys have gotten outa the build and with what parts. I may even turbo it later down the road so all you turbo LSV guys are welcome too, just let me know if its turbo or not. Thanks guys!

Complete VTEC head B16 or GS-R, VTEC oil pump, VTEC water pump, new timing belt, new MLS head gasket, ARP head studs, all wiring modifications, a VTEC ECU (P30 or P72) is what i would start out with and get it tuned afterwords if u do it yourself

How much of a difference would some Crower 403 or 404 cams and and Skunk2 IM make? I wanna get into the 13s on motor with my 4Dr! I know... I know. But it would be awesome to whoop some *** in sedan!

Unless I get really brave, a shop. But I dunno if I trust anybody around here to do anything like that. Oh, the last time I ran my car it had the stock B18B with 150k miles on it and ran a 16.6. I couldnt get a good launch cause of the 14" bald tires. But what do you think I would run with a new JDM B18B w/CAI, catback, and good 17" tires?

Cool, you'll have to let me know what you run. You'll probably have your conversion before mine.

I help a frient put together his LS-Vtec set up. Consisted of:

B16 head
B16 tranny
ITR oil pump, ITR water pump, GSR timing belt
CTR pistons
OEM rings
Eagle rods
Omni power valve springs and retainer
Micropolished, chamfered crank
balance rotating assembly
Buddy club 4 cams
Blox IM
68mm TB
RC 310 injectors
few more misc things, i forgot,
Tuned with Hondata, with almost every single ounce of power squeezed out of it. Revved to 9.5k. I wasnt there for the dyno. but i was told that it made 211whp. He hasnt gone to the track yet. but he's hoping to run high 12's. All this was done under $3000

You guys know that there's a PM thing so you don't have to each make 10 posts back and forth to each other?

ive got a prety bad *** lsv build, its all rebuilt with je pistons and rods, running 12.7:1 compression, afew other extras, stock gsr head immaking 187hp at the wheels and146 trq, could o nly run a 14.7 with no traction, i havent been since i installed the full race traction bar, ifeel if i did some head work and went back i'd be in the mid 12's, im killing Mustang GT's on the street as is...

Anyways, i feel LS/V is great build if done right, but if you dont do itright, youf ucked!

That stock head is really holding you back. That high of compression goes well with REAL agressive cams. and good breathing set up (IM, TB ...) You should easily be making over 200whp.

I just wanted to say that your 'heavy ***' 4door is only about 60 to 100 pounds more than a 2door (depending). That's like having a small kid in your car.

you could get some good numbers out of it, but take it from me, your gonna spend a **** load on that, for half of what thats gonna cost, you can turbo your LS, and make 300+ hp.. you'll be much happier in the long run
