this is a really stuupid question (tot he people with ITR gauges)

i know i know, but my question is well, i was on my buddies eg hatch and i noticed that when he would haul *** the rpm and mph needle is very accurate and moves very fast, then i tried it on mine and it seems that the needle looks heavy...
wanted to know if
1. you guys have atleast a clue wth im talking about
2.if the usdm, itr rpm is the same way or never changes from gsr/ls
or any other aftermarket/OEM gauges the needle is faster
