Car cranks but doesnt start...i did a search..
I was driving home after work and i noticed that i need to get some gas so i go to the gas station and fill my tank. When i get home i popped my hood and noticed that my little filter on my missing link is ******* dirty. I change the filter go to start the car and doesnt want to start. No CEL just cranks over and then after i smell something sweet like gas, but im not sure..i know its not coolant. I did some searches and some people say injectors, some say maybes its the gas or main relay. Any ideas?
To check the main relay just turn the key to "on' and listen for a relay "click" when the Check engine light goes out, and listen in the rear for the pump, if you do not hear a "click" after several times, then it would be the Main relay.

i hear a little click right when the check engine light dissapears, i read somewhere that it could be a blown headgasket but oil and coolant arent milky. Also i had the car running and i just decided to pull the plugs to see if it dies , the third plug i pulled out puttered then died, thats when the car wouldnt start. Before hand when i was driving i did notice a ticking sound like the valves. but i read on a thread here that it might just be the distributor and cap.

you would have to take apart your distributor. here's a link http://jdmlyfestyle.com/how_to...m.htm , this helped me a lot. i don't know what are the specs, but i used the specs here and i called my friend from honda to check for me and it was my coil.

i took the distributor off today...ran into a few problems...the clips on the side of the harness were a bitch to take off i couldnt believe it. Then i take the cap off of the dist. and the first screw on the rotor i believe is on REALLY tight...might have stripped it a little. I know if i strip it im fucked. So im just going to wait till tommarrow maybe have some help. oh well.....

you can always buy a whole distributor in ebay (where i got mine, 100 shipped) and i just fixed the whole problem. i swapped coils from another civic and it didn't worked so i just replaced the whole thing. good luck.
