I say manual all the way, but it's all personal preference, if you wanna stay auto, stay auto, if you wanna go manual, go manual, it's not a big thing to be indecisive about. It just depends on what you wanna do.
auto is always good if you commute and hate stop and go traffic. thats probably the only reason sticking with an automatic is better.
Also I have an auto....I didn't have a choice but I love it now. I didn't even want a LX civic wit AT and its a 4-door...But Now it's great. It's less likely to be stolen and it's reliable but still fun to drive. But if you have the option go with stick. It's a lot easier trying to make a Stick fast than an AT.
i am running an all motor sedan with a b20 crvtec conversion and when i smoke some of these smaller hatches they get shocked, i say stick with the sedan but loose the auto tranny or even save up and do a crvtec in one because believe me its not slow and the look on these guys face is worth looking at

a/t is good if you don't want to play between clutch and gas in traffic. I prefer m/t cuz it's more fun, you control your power, and better gas mileage
280 driving lightly on a/t, i get 330 average after m/t conversion.
Depends on you.

lot's of suggestions here back and forth on what you should do, but what are your plans for the car (before i start making decisions for you about your car)?
