Default Low MPG on 03 Civic, should i replace Fuel Filter

Hello, i just bought my 03 civic a few months back has 100k (has not a single mod done) and since buying it i have noticed its not that greatest on mpgs. I drove 100 percent highway till E (trip to parents 6 hours a way) and barely got 33. When i have mixed driving 3/4 city 1/4 hwy i barely get 25. i upgraded from my 98 accord for the mpgs but dont notice that its upto the stock. i drive it like a granny most of the time.
So what if done sense getting the car:
Tune Up,
Highmile Oil Change,
Air Filter Change,
& New Tires.

Only thing that i keep reading is about the fuel filter. I am assuming its the stock one. If so should i change it because car has 100k? If so how?
What about reseting the ECU during the winter so it can be better on MPG? If so how?
Thanks in advance guys. Cant wait to here from you!

The fuel filter "doesnt need replacement" according to Honda. Its buried in the gas tank.
There's not going to be anything you can do to the ECU.
If its freezing cold, air is more dense and it takes more gas to keep the car stoichiometric. No one will get great milage when its 20 degrees out. Its getting 33 on the highway in the cold I'd say its fine.

Also isn't "high mileage" oil a little thicker to prevent blow by etc, and wouldn't that actually make your gas mileage go down?

And is it an Auto or a Manual, and are the new tires filled to the correct air pressure? And with the tune up you used the correct plugs?

yea autos get lower gas mileage than manuals since they only have 4 gears. that 5th gear that manuals have make a big diff in gas mileage.

Autos get A LOT worse gas milage than a standard, that is just common knowledge.

99%of automakers use the data form standards, because they are always higher.

My girlfriends 2000 Civic Auto gets about 450-500 per tank ( $40) where i get 600 for the same $40

In order to replace the fuel filter, you'd have to check the clearance on your fuel lines, drop the gas tank, remove the fuel pump, and disassemble the fuel pump housing. I can almost guarantee that the fuel pump isn't the problem. That is, unless you put leaves or something solid, in your fuel tank.

The fuel filter is not easy to change on these cars as it is inside the gastank itself. Its not like older Hondas where it is located on the firewall of the engine bay. Your best bet is switching to a synthetic 5w-20 like mobil1 and making sure you keep up with proper maintenance. You might also want to check your tire pressure and make sure its at 30psi. And you could always try some fuel injector cleaner like Redline or Lubecontrol. It'll squeeze an extra mpg or two depending how dirty the injectors are. Oh and you might want to do a drain and fill on your auto transmission so that everything runs smoother. Another thing is you can do a ground wiring upgrade to your engine bay... that'll also help smoothen things out.

Those are just the small precautions you can take to get the most out of your car. Dont expect much during winter weather.

So we cant really change the fuel filter. Tire pressure is at 30 psi. So is 5w-20 Mobil1 fully synthetic, is that what i should start asking for at my oil change, ive been doing high mile is that partially synthetic? I have done a transmission drain and fill recently forgot to mention that. What exactly is a ground wiring to my engine bay? how do i do that? what would the benefits be?
Thanks a lot!
