i went to look at a ej8 at the dealer today. when they guy started it loud metal on metal sounds came from the motor but whenthe car warmed up it sorta went away. MY QUESTION IS IS THE NOISE COMIN FROM THE WATER PUMP OR IS IT A BIGGER PROBLEM LIKE CRANK/ROD BEARINGS????????. it idles fine nd started right up. need some info. in the market for my first car thinkin about gettin it. if the sound are from the water pump im not to worried about it but if its from the engine then i wont get it. HELP PLEASE??

 

where u located? my car does this too when very cold

 

NJ i dunno thinkin bout buyin it but i dont want a fucked up motor. the grill in the bumber cut out so im thinkin it was boosted somebody might of gotten boost happy. but the dealer mechanic sayin its fine

u know the water pump is part of the engine right...?

yea i now but a water pump easy to replace and isnt to big of a hustle but if it something beyond that like bearings the it not worth gettin the car

 

dude there are so many civics out there, PASS!

 

is it a clicking sound? like the valves? or like aknocking pinging sound?
i dont thin it would be the last one since it doesnt just "go away"

no it doesnt click or knock it like a surface slidin on one a nother sounds like a bearing was seasing up

yea i now just this one for a good price nd dropped on tein coilovers but ima go look at other ones ths saturday
