Diffs broke what to do?
so i just found out that my differntials broke on my ITR LSD transmission...so what should i do?...rebuild it?..take out the gearings and place it into a b16 case that has no gears?...how much would it cost for the rebuild or the replacement of the LSD?...any suggestions would be good
the car didnt move the other day so i thought it was the clutch...but when i took the tranny off, a piece of metal fell off. The piece of metal was from the diffs where the intermediate shaft meets the transmission...luckily i had a spare s80 tranny...so now im deciding on what to do
dude. seriously....you can rebuild this tranny yourself. i did. you can easily get another diff and put it in as long as you know how to install the bearings and speedo gear and such. HOWEVER. once your diff blows there is an extreme amount of random metal shavings in the tranny as you will see once you take the case apart from the bellhousing...the little magnet will be more than full believe me. but youd be better off to just buy another tranny. i put mine back together and ive drove about 600 miles on this engine build with that tranny and ive opted to just get another tranny rather than be stranded somewhere when this one decides to go. i only got a jdm b16 tranny tho. im not cool enough to have LSD lol

A lot easier than disassembling the main and counter shafts.
Since you would be replacing the current one with the same model diff it's pretty easy.
