changed the axle/tie rod yea i searched
well my car 89 civic si has 345k on the body/motor
car was fine before i lowered it on some cheapo coilovers. i threw the stock suspension on and it still has this problem...
whenever i make left truns the car makes a skipping thudding noise while driving any time the noise is there, when i drive straight or make right hand turn there is no noise everything is fine. now ive replaced the left axls, the driver side outer tie rod and still the problem continues.
everything is tight ive double checked the suspension ie fork , lca bolt, both ball joint bolts etc
the boots for the iner tie rods are rippd on both sides i did catch notice too this but i dont think thats the cause of the problem the car was perfect before i lowered it something happened with me dropping the dam car.
anyways wat could it be bad lower /upper ball joint? spindle?

your wheel bearings might be going bad, 345k is a long way for wheel bearings, if they were never replaced. its probably good to do both in the front. and you may want to replace the other axle as well, just to completely eliminate it from the equation.
those inner tie rods would be a good thing to do also, and ball joints if they havent recently been done.

if the steering rack boots are shot, its pretty much guaranteed the rack end bushing (steering rack) and possibly the inner balljoint (inner tie rod) is toast too.
the good news is that its not that expensive really to replace.
$10 for the bushing. about $40 each for the inner tie rods.
the bad news is that its kind of a pain to replace the first time. but definately doable. dont forget to adjust the gearbox before youre done.

btw, if the problem occurs when making LEFT hand turns, then its the RIGHT side that needs to be replaced.
you said you replaced the driver side... you should have replaced the passenger side.
upper and lower balljoints are also a likely problem. but it should be obvious if they have play by shaking. any play is unacceptable.

no you cant use eg spindles.
but if you can properly extract the balljoint, then you can use it on the ef.
but why bother, just get a new balljoint if thats what you need.
