knocking noise under car
I started noticing a wierd noise under my car today while driving..its really weird..i think it is suspension related. At low speeds..i can hear it..i think its coming from my driver side front...Its kinda scary....i figured that it would be cv joints...but it happens when i drive straight....it does happen when i turn too..I notice it while slowing down...and i notice it from turning......any ideas anyone?

Re: knocking noise under car (Sohc Driver)
check your tie rod and ball joint....heres how:
1. jack your car up.
2. wiggle your tire from side to side...if there is play then your tie rod needs to be replaced.
3. wiggle your tire up and down...if there is play then your one of your ball joints(upper or lower) needs to be replaced.
You can usually tell if a ball joint or tie rod needs to be replaced by looking at the rubber boot...if its ripped and all the grease is leaked out you probably need a new one.
you will experience a knocking noise like you describe if one of these 2 things need to be replaced. and i suggest doing it soon if you can hear it cause the ball joints and tie rods can seperate if they are messed up badly enough.
