eg civic+work equips+sizing help.
I am very tempted to buy some work equips. My question is which size will work better? 1. 15x7 with a 32 offset.
2. 15x8 with a 38 offset
Any one rocking equips that could show me a picture and let me know what setup they have. ie pulled fenders? rolled fenders? tire size? spacers? suspension setup? etc. anything that has to do with getting the wheels to fit proper enough to drive daily. thanks in advance.
With my experience, 15x7 +38 fits pretty good. Lowest offset I'd run on a Civic is +38 if you don't want to put a lot of effort into getting them to fit good.
I dont want to redesign the front end or anything. But I wouldnt mind putting in an extra hour or 2 to make the wheels that look awesome fit properly. But I want to hear some personal experiance because If I buy these wheels and they dont fit I will be ******* bullshit at my self.
15x8 is MUCH too wide.
The best 15" tire size for your car is 195/50-15. Tires that size are only approved for rims 5.5-7.0 inches wide. I wouldn't even get 15x7, since they will look stretched/stupid and the tires won't protect the rim from curbing damage. Get 15x6 or 15x6.5.

your telling me that a 195/50-15 is better than a 205/50-15 on the same wheel?

I've got the Equips with a +38 offset on my car. 15x7 Equip 01s and all. Beyond that you're going to have issues.

On his car, yes, absolutely. It won't screw up the speedometer/odometer, it won't rub, and it won't make his car accelerate slower - all are disadvantages of the 205/50-15 on his car. Remember, you need to get the proper size tire FOR THE CAR.
Differences of 10 mm in treadwidth are not going to significantly affect performance. If you had the opportunity to drive two identical cars back to back, with the same model tires, with identical tread depth, one in 195/50-15 and the other in 205/50-15, and you weren't told which was which, you would never be able to tell any difference in performance.
Differences in performance between different types (models) of tires are much, much, MUCH greater than differences due to treadwidth, which are insignificant. If you are looking for better performance, concentrate on buying better, stickier tires, rather than wider tires. For example, a Goodyear F1 GS-D3 in 195/50-15 will perform much better than most other 205/50-15 tires, despite the treadwidth difference, because it's a better tire that grips better in most conditions.

stick with the 15x7 with a 32 offset i ran a 35mm offset on my EM1 without any problems.. a 15x8 is too wide unless you want that strecth look like a vw.. and with the 15x8 you may have to roll the fenders if you ek is to low

I'm in the same boat.....I really want the Drag Dr-20....so 195/50/15 would be the best tire to put on???
Would the 205/50/15 rub??
I kind of want a little more rim protection.
What brand of tire is going to fit best on the DR-20 15x7.5" with 38+ offset????????
I have a 5th gen hatch.

If your Civic is '95 or older, yes.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the tire, the offset of the wheel, etc. 195/50-15 shouldn't rub at all.

Then look for tires which have a "rim protector" feature, where the rubber sticks out a bit at the edge next to the rim.

You need to match the tire size to the car, not the tire brand to the wheels. And again, on an older Civic, 15x7.5 is too wide. Stick with 15x6 or 15x6.5.
