Default smoking civic headlights 96-98

yes i did a search and i had a few questions before i got started

1. should i use a hairdrier or the oven?
2. what should i use to get rid of the amber part so not to damage the housing?
3. how many coats should i use...will it seem lighter or darker at night ect.
4. and what is the best way to reseal it so there is no future condensation

i know this topic has already been covered im just being careful any pics opinions are welcome
thanks and cheers

1. which ever you like. My experiences were with the heat guns.
2. Philips screw driver. They are attached with screws.
3. Are you painting the crome housing or tinting the clear plastic?
Either way, use light coats until you reach the desired "smoked-ness". It doesn't look nice if you have paint running. BTW, if you are tinting the lens, may i suggest only tinting the corner light part and not the headlight section. Too much heat will build and cause cracks in the lens. I know because i've done it before.
4. Silicon

Here is why i know the stuff above...

here are mine, i used a hairdryer...not a good idea anyways, use an oven, i set the temp on my friends at 160 for 15 min...easy to pull apart and easy to paint... to seal them back up, use heat gun to take out all the excess stuff from the ridge where the sealant is and replenish with some fresh silicon, itll be butter once youre done.

while i was clearing out the old sealant i cracked the headlight base frame if i put a generous amount of silicon there do you think it will stay waterproof or should i just buy another headlight
