Just Installed M22x combo, CEL wont turn off....
Hi I just finished the installation of my new M22x combo (cams, valvtrain, sparkplugs, and the ^%^@#$ chip), the thing is that I changed the fuel injectors also for RC 440 and I specified that to RM for the chip and it worked well but the CEL is on and that shuts off vtec too...
I switched the chip back to the one I had before and the car doesn't even start, i believe it is because of the fuel injectors but that leaves me no choice but to use the chip they sent me.
Is there something I should have done to make it work properly, or is it just on purpose so you go to a tuner ASAP... ??
Thanks

I know they may be too big, its a b16A with 81.5 pistons no great displacement increase, but after tuned they should be fine right? maybe they'll be far from their max flow but they should work well...
I've checked the CEL code, it gives me 3 problems,
19 - Automatic transmission lockup control valve
20 - Electrical load detector
22 - VTEC pressure valve
I don't know why the CEL lighted up because before I installed the fuel injectors and the new chip everything was just fine... That's why I was wondering if the chip does that for caution...

Well I'm about to reinstall my stock fuel injectors so I can use the chip that had been tuned before, would it be safe to run the old program with these new cams?
I've changed from S2S1 to M22x, changed OEM valves for omni flat valves.

19- do you have an auto ECU??? is this OBD1 or OBD0?
20- usually a ground of some sort
22- check your solenoid, sometimes the JDM solenoids have issues with american computers. some have only 1 plug

I assume this is an OBD1 P28 in a OBD2 car. In Europe we don't have ELD so we just check the "Disable ELD" checkbox in Crome/Hondata. No more CEL 20. We also don't have VTP so we connect the VTP to VTS (jump A4 to D6 on OBD1 side). No more CEL 22.
BTW, an M22xx is going to be installed soon into my ITR, too

Keep the 440's in and unplug your hondata. The chip was written using Crome. E-mail me so I can send you the Hondata version.
Thanks.

Thanks, My car is indeed an obd2 car with an obd1 ECU, p28 actually, I'll try the option of disconecting the Hondata cable from the ecu and see if it works. In the meantime I hope Don Lackey helps with the new chip
thanks again guys...

Ok so I've received the chip and install it, it took one CEL code off, but there are two more that leave the CEL on and VTEC wont kick in that way. Nevertheless, I turned the ign key off and then on while driving and took advantage of the seconds that the CEL took to showed up and ran the car with a great VTEC response. Now I wanna do this all the time but not like that.
I need some help, is it possible to fix the CEL codes 20 and 22?
Electrical load detector
VTEC pressure valve
or is this just a chip program issue?
thanks

Ok I do understand hoe the troubleshooting things work, the problem here is that my car does NOT have the things that are lighting up the CEL.
My car does not have the ELD as the manual says under the fuse box.
And definitely does not have a VTEC pressure switch with a blu/blk and blk cable...
therefore the troubleshooting procedures don't help me...
I just wanted to know if all this can be because of the ECU that is trying to look for those pins that do not exist, so if there is a chance that with a correct chip I have those CEL codes off...
Thanks
