What do i need to install a turbo?
I am wanting to install a turbo in my EM2 D17, only thing is i don't know what stuff i'm gonna need. Being in the UK it aint easy getting hold of the right parts for this car.
Anyone who can shed some light as to what i need to do to install a turbo in my car would be of great help.
A step by step guid would be even better.

Just a quick parts list...
(Obviously)
Turbo
Manifold
Downpipe
Here and there parts...
Boost controller
Blow off valve
Wastegate (if turbo does not have an internal WG)
Injectors
Fuel Pump booster
Engine/Fuel management system
Oil lines and fittings
Intercooler
Charge piping with all clamps and connectors
Spark plugs
That is the parts I would get if I was boosting... which I will be soon... SUPERCHARGER FTW!!!!!!!

I know... but these threads worry me. It sounds like people just get a list, go out and find it all, the start throwing stuff on. I wish it were that simple, but it isnt, and newbies sometimes dont realize that until they're picking up wrist pins off the road.

Couldnt agree more... either that, or newbs go to shops get 5000 worth of turbo equiptment thrown in, then they think they can fix it...

And you are right... which is people that know what they are doing, (like you and I etc) need to help out as much as we can to make sure he gets enjoyment out of something, rather than pick wrist pins off the road.
that is why I love being a car guy really... Helping people out and teaching others what I know... I think that that is what it is all about really.
