Poll: Sell Bike?
Here's the deal. After owning my bike for 6 months, I know I cannot afford to keep the bike AND put money into my ITR. I am currently selling my '06 GSX-R 750 here, but I know I will cry myself to sleep for at least a month if it goes.
My question, to the people who have had the money to do what they want to their ITR/car, is it worth it to sell the bike? Should I turn the bike sale into a fund the ITR festival, or what?...

I'd keep both stock and enjoy them as is. I purchased my bike after I already had my R. After riding the bike, I wished I would have saved all my money spent modding my R because despite all the mods I have on my R, it doesn't really match the sheer exhilaration and speed of a bike.
Don't get me wrong, I love my ITR and it's a fun car to drive. But it's just not the same as riding a bike. My .02 cents.

He's [Eva01] referring to his scooter. You on the other hand have a real bike. Not a bannana seat scooter. *roffles*

LOL, what an *******. At least I can spell banana.
On top of that, it's an 03 F4i, so it doesn't even have a banana seat.
To contribute to the thread, even though my bike is a stock F4i, it's rediculously faster than my ITR.

Before I rip you a new one, let me first contribute to the thread.
Your GXR is alot more fun and cheaper to keep and mod. The ratio to mod vs value of the bike of course is going to be a little skewed on the percentile, however, the dollar amount will be alot cheaper. There's not much you can do to your bike to make it faster aside from doing some sort of power adder. Out of the box, it's already has the fun factor of an ITR to the 10th power. That's the reality.
Now for Mr. Eva01. Let's face it, your F4i is an overgrown Scooter. It looks like a Vespa on steroids and it sounds like it has an electric engine. Sitting on the bannana seats makes you feel extremely homosexual. It makes me want to cut myself thinking about it. I would rather jump off the side of the mountain than ride an F4i.

sell the bike. Buy a cheap track bike. and then dump some of the money your not spending on bike insurance into the ITR.
Bikes are fun, but you will never push a bike on the street the way you could on a track.
Now thats exhilarating

no love for the bike w/ chicken wings?
when i was on the market to buy my R,i was also in the market for a bike @ the same time. Well it was during summer so i enden up buying my gixxer 1st since i also have a beater. then winter was on the way an i saw R for a pretty good deal.(then my beater got stolen
f'kin thieves
)
Honestly the bike is alotta fun, great on gas, awesome speed, you dont get stuck in traffic and easy to park @ my work,or if i wanna park on the other lot and take the shuttle @ work that goes around. since ive have been DD the R,i always park her by the smoking pit and the cameras so its safe.
keep the bike dude

this shouldn't even be a question. keep both the ITR and the GSX-R, even if that means they both stay relatively stock. riding is one of the best thing i've yet to experience, especially on the track
nothing is as exhilarating as being one with a motorcyle
plus, even if some kid in an SRT-4 rolls your R you'd still have something to fall back on - "my bike runs 10s, stock!"

had the same dilemma.....
kept the bike
just had to wait a little bit to do mods
a quick street car is great but can never compare to the acceleration of the bike

I have a stock R and a stock bike. I wouldn't have it any other way in my current financial situation (ie. not making tons of money).
If an stock ITR or a stock sportbike aren't enough fun for you, you should have your head examined

Thanks for all the replies. Don't worry, man...if it has at least 500 cc, it will give you all the ride any modest rider/driver would ever want.
I think gooch has the right idea. I think I will still sell my bike in hopes of buying a hella cheap one next winter. I'll prob keep it streetable, though, get good at basic stunts and dragging my knee. I'll buy it in cash this time so I can throw my bike payments into my car.
I should have known after the first ride I couldn't let it go...
