I've lost my sanity...
Well, after many weeks, and continuous bumps in the road I finally got everything hooked up and filled up... finally completing my engine swap. Nearly overwhelmed with a sense of excitement for a long job finally done I go to start my car. I turn the key to hear the engine crank... and crank... and crank some more... but it won't turn. After checking some electrical connections I finally trace the problem to a lack of fuel. Apparently, after I changed my fuel filter I didn't align the hole in the bolt properly so the fuel was just getting clogged in the line and leaking all over. (I really f*cking hate Honda's design, nothing but problems... but I've never had any problems ever changing the one on any Chevy I've owned) Anywayz, the engine finally fired up and proceeded to idle extremely eradically. I turned it off and did a visual inspection, but everything seemed to be fine. Then I started it up again, and it proceeded to shake like made and idle like it was about to just say "f*ck it" and die. It was at this point that I just completely lost all sanity and began to cuss out my car. After calming down I called up AAA and had it towed to someone else... so they can lose their mind instead of me. What the f*ck is wrong with my car... and why do the Honda gods hate me so.
p.s. sorry for the long post... I just had to vent. thanks

I don't think reliability goes with a swap. Just depends on the condition of the motor and the quality of the swap. Your idle problem was probably vacuum related, or could possibly be traced to the fast idle valve or a maladjusted TPS.

Not necessarily. If you changed the timing belt, that could cause horrible idle also - I forgot to tighten mine when I did my swap, and it skipped a tooth. Ran like a dump truck until someone on this board suggested checked that.
yep, doing a swap will do that to some people. Did it for me. I was just one wire away from actually starting it up, didn't know it paid $250 and someone else to do fool with it for a day.
Yeah, and when I started it up, idled just like yours did, turns out it was the wrong vac lines to the MAP sensor. When I drove it home about 10 miles, ran like ***** that way until I figured it out after pulling it in the garage and looking at my vacum diagram
!
I FEEL YOUR PAIN, MINE WAS DOWN 7 MONTHS BECAUSE OF THAT ONE WIRE!!!!!

If you've ever done any type of motor sawp in any automobile, you will know that after you get it to start, there will be at least an hour of diagnosing idle problems and fixing leaks, lol

plugged it in and it ran like a sav!........all that because i didnt plug it in all the way!!!
