Not sure what a vtir engine consists of, but a real B18c-r will have a single plane p73 intake manifold, PR3 stamped head and a red oem valve cover.

No, any type "R" head will be a PR3 casting...as opposed to P72 on a gsr. P73 is on the backside of the intake plenum though.

What about CTR B16B head? I know there is PR3 on the exhaust side but what about on the intake side? is there a CTR or PCT or something like this stamped on the intake side??

thats one way to tell. the GSR coolant neck is on the front of that side
of the head under the vtec solenoid. on the B16/itr it is on the rear
under the distributor.

externally, there is no way to tell any "R" head from a B16a one. I have heard some type r guys say there is a green paint mark on them but I have never verified this....

I've heard that same thing. I do have a B18C and I did have a smidge of green paint on the back of the head, near the dizzy. Though when I cleaned the head, the paint came right off. The head does have a stamp on the exaust side (PR3-3). I've been told that is a B16 head though. I'm curious to know for sure, if anyone can shed some light on this.

The man is right. All b16/b18cR heads have the PR3-3 stamp on it. So the only other 2 ways that I know to tell is the intake manifold and the valve cover

Unless you were to open up the head and look at the camshafts and such, you can tell if its a b16 or a ITR head. So to you ITR owners- Tell everybody you got LS/V

GSR block , B16 head. They'll eat it right up.
