Edit:
So, I really didnt think this through. My problem is that my power locks arent working. I figured this was the problem, but I hadn't thought about the fact that the door is closed when I click the lock button. haha. SO thanks for the replies, but that isn't exactly what I meant to say. So now that I said what I meant, anyone have ideas on how to fix it?
p.s. if it is relevant, my window has been messed up and it wont roll up properly. took off the door panel and tried to fix the window but couldnt. (this wasnt the cause of the door locking problem because I had the door lock problem before and after I did this)

Every Honda made around that time has this feature.
And yes, it's to stop you from locking your keys in your car. Though on my last two Hondas (87 CRX & a 96 Civic) I got in the habit of pulling the door handle and locking it as just a normal step in me getting out of the car, so it never once stopped me from locking the keys in the car.
These days I have a keyless remote, so if I don't have my remote on me then my keys are still in the car... it's very hard to keyless lock the car from the outside if you don't have the fob that's hanging from your keyring.

my del sol has it, and i made it a habit of pulling the handle and locking the car from the inside. Just carry a spare key in your wallet and don't worry about it.
Even my Mazda beater has it, only if you lock the door from the inside, when u shut it, it unlocks the door. I didn't realize that and my car had been sitting around unlocked all the time

yeah its supposed to be like that on the drivers door of a lot of hondas probably like 86 to 99, its not a problem

Ahhhh... yes, it was rather vague before.
I'd look for a blown fuse, short, loose connector, or failed equipment.
Have you checked the fuses under the dash? Used a multimeter to check whether your power door lock switch is working?
Any chance you working on your car right before they stopped working? Hopefully so, since it'd point you in the general vincinity you need to look for the problem.

I know I 'm new to the forum but what exactly is happening with the window? Is it binding or rolling up outside the rubber guide? I ask as mine was binding and I eventually had to go buy some Shin-Itsu from the dealer. The window kept being pulled out of the track and while it would roll all the way down with out any trouble (ok a little binging midway down) it would stop rolling up about 2/3rds of the way up because it was out of the track and was coming up between the door post and the window rubber. I tried everything before I came across this stuff. Hope this helps you out.
