not sure why car is not passing smog, no modifications everything is stock, possibly bad cat or 02 sensors??? what do you guys think? car has CEL on (system too lean/rich). already changed spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires. already tried resetting ECU, CEL just comes back; also never messed with timing. thanks for any input!

2000 civic EX - obd2 sucks...

15 mph
HC - 273 (max = 64)
CO - 9.99 (max = 0.55)
NO - 10 (max = 477)

25 mph
HC - 297 (max = 47)
CO - 10.2 (max = 0.54)
NO - 12 (max = 764)

 

if everythings stock, why'd you have to go to the ref? try checking what your CEL is for. dont guess and throw money at the problem. HC's usually cat/o2 sensor problem.

 

do a tune up, that helps.. my 200k civic pass, no reason for ur not too.

 

Wow, it looks like your running on the rich side buddy. I would look more into the CEL, it will most likely be your cause. Once you get the CO to drop the HC should do the same.

 

oh i had to go to the ref for the expletive altered emissions /smog. got pulled over and was running a turbo setup, had the greddy carb sticker posted but nothing directly on the charge pipe = automatic ticket....
