If you don't put a bolt there it will most likely leak.

Weld a vband fitting right to the housing and weld a plate over the internal WG opening. Did that on mine to just avoid dealing with the broken studs on the turbine housing.

3inch should fit perfectly, just cut the other studs down and weld away.

Worked great btw.

if you drill and tap with the right size tools, and hit it dead center you can take out all the bolt material without damaging/changing the original threads

tap what?

drill a hole in the center of the broken stud and use an appropriate size easy out.

any machine shop would take the bolt out for $15-$20.

I have the same exhaust housing and one of mine broke off too, but its was one of the ones away from the turbine. Mine doesn't leak, but since yours is one of the main 3 it might.

Since it's off the car right now I would get that broke bolt out.

If you have a welder you can tack a little piece of metal to it and turn it out.

Just drill out and heilcoil. Dont make it difficult by trying to center and tap and so on. Heilcoil stronger anyways =D

If there is any amount of the bolt sticking up out of the hole...You could just cut a slot into it with some kind of cut off wheel and use a flathead screwdriver to get it out...

x3 on that....
easy out didn't work so i had to drill it out and retap the hole. i used the same tap as the original threads so everything came out good.
