Default Lowering Car

So I have been riding on H&R Sport springs with stock shocks for almost 5 years now. I am now considering lowering my ride a little bit more. I want a more slammed look. I don't want to spend money on getting new shocks so what is the best option to get a more slammed look without having such a harsh ride. What springs are good for a slammed look?

well I see a lot of cars with omnis and ground controls, although these are both coilovers I've had good luck with ground controls hopefully that helps a bit

there isn't one. the more you lower it (with stock shocks), the more "harsh" the ride is.

Actually I understand that GCs with koni yellows, is one of the most perfered setups of the ht members....and one of the least expensive(w/o being utter crap)

Then sell your car, and get one that is more "slammed" from the factory,
Because you're not going to do it And get a nice ride on stock shocks, period.

Um if you can

Kony yellow shock $500
GC coilovers $250

Best setup for the money.

I have no experiance but after going cheap It sucks. do it right the first time.

yea i think i will get coilovers so i can adjust the ride height. can i first try coilovers with stock shocks and see how that is, then get shocks if i need to...i know most of u will say do it all the first time...i guess i need to save up some more.

your gonna need new shocks bro. lowered on stock shocks for 5 yrs?!!! they were blown the first 5 months that you rode them. just get either the koni/GC setup, or a full omni street coilover setup off ebay for the same price brand new with warranty

Im riding on Tokico Illuminas and Neuspeed Race springs. It's a pretty nice height if youre not getting a coilover. The drop is 2.0F 1.75R and the illumina's are really nice. You can get that setup for around 600$ its a pretty good alternative to the koni/gc setup if you dont want to spend so much.

hey if it helps any im riding on d2 coilovers, its 36 way adjustable... but um... u really dont feel much when u go one settin at a time.. kinda pointless... but i believe its from stock height up to either a 3 or 4 inch drop.. coilovers r great cuz u can play wit the height whenever the hell u want. my car isnt too low... sits just about the wheels... i like the look, but im riding them stiff... ride is rough but not that bad... i guess lol

I had an EGG6 back in the day buffet. I was on 450 and 350 lb springs. Do some math, that equals out to be 8K and 6K springs. I had tokico blues. It was my daily driver, but that was a KILLER combination. It wasnt overly bouncy, plus it handled like crazy, yo. The springs were pretty short though. Like 6 inches long or so. So the car was pretty much slammed all the time. I had adjustable perches to put the springs on. So do that.

I don't know to much on what makes a setup good or bad. So would it be preferred to get a koni yellow/GC setup or a coilover system of equal $ value?

How low are you now?

Trust me, with a "slammed" look (to me it means no finger gap on the wheels and fender---whereas dumped is more like wheel tucking or is it the other way around?), if your shocks aren't blown yet as you say, they will be in a couple of months. Unless you claim comfortable for you is a bit bouncy here and there, I would say on a super tight budget, you can just 'try' coilover sleeves.

I've been running Tein HA's for 5 years now and I'm tucking tires. 205/45/16s daily driven. I have a feeling that my shocks need revalving soon. Also to tell you the truth, you will have to sacrifice a lot in terms of driving style and comfort just to have that dumped or slammed look.

slammed/dumped is the only way for me.

gc and koni yellows all the way !! and if you have the dough throw on the gc top hats and loose less strut travel due to the sweet design . this will also increase your ride quality with a lower stance.

you have to change your shocks man! thats why you get a "harsh" ride in the first place.. ground controls with kyb, tokiko, koni.. any shock thats new would do good, you'll feel the difference!
