All Motor or Supercharged...
since turbo is pretty much outta the question for me and ive realized i really shouldnt boost that much on the R...the delema continues for the future of my R. either supercharged with engine work or just go all out for all motor...ive been looking into the 2.0l kits and all that. please give me some good ideas..if i go supercharged i will go with the Jackson Racing one and run at a low boost. let me know what yall think...later
i thought about this too as i'm sure many have...personally i would stick with n/a. n/a is more reliable (considering the use of the right parts) and more ideal for the R. superchargering just doesn't give the R the same bang that it gives in other cars...yes it's a lot more safer than turbo though. R's were meant to be n/a...just my opinion of course...
although if you are serious about the supercharger...i may be able to get you a decent price...think about it though

all motor, full build 2.0 ltr, itb's.....supercharges are kinda......i don't want to say junk but it's really not worth it imo (jr at least have yet to drive a vortec s/c honda). although a couple people on this board have built s/c motors and they are fast, cetane comes to mind .....
A really fast all motor build up is expensive and no more reliable.
If you get a JRSC though, it's going to be expensive too just not quite as expensive. Tuning these things is a pain.

You'll ave a hard time hitting 12s with either setup. It's not impossible, people here have done it both ways but it's not cost effective.
If you want 12s go turbo. If you're worried about blowing up your car with the turbo keep in mind that no matter how you do it, a 12 second ITR is not going to be what most people would consider reliable.

so you want 12's and daily driven? thats quite a task n/a... not an easy task with the JRSC, but there is a 12 sec JRSC'd R on this board. Rboosted717, I believe. He can fill you in on that. IMO, Turbo is the best way to go. You should be able to run 12's with a stock DRAG GEN 3 kit with good tuning and slicks. Maybe get a Hondata just so you can be sure you get the best tuning possible. Good tuning is really the key to reliability. The JRSC wiithout an intercooler will be a problem when the heat rises. fast n/a would not be fun to drive on the street and it wouldnt be so well off after long commutes.

didnt spoon or jun make 2.0l kits that cost around 8k?
Thats why you dont buy spoon or jun.

you can always make N/A fast, and if someone say "my turbo R ran 12's or my N/A R ran 12's" which one you think it would be better?!?! personally, i think N/A car is "much " more fun to drive and you can always have heavy foot that's something turbo can't do, most ppl i know with turbo spend more time in the shop than on the road cuz they use the same style to drive their turbo. B20 bottom with individual throttle bodies rule "all the way!!!" (but you need a lot money tho) good luck.
Get yourself some Jun 3 Cams, CTR Pistons, Hytech or SMSP header/exhaust, and a good intake... Lose some weight on the car, get Hondata, and bam!!! 13 second all motor Type R, with panty-dropping power.

Personally I'll be keeping my ITR N/A (it's purely a track car).
My daily driver is a turbo hatch as boost owns on the street. If you have a mid 12 sec N/A car and I have a low 12 sec turbo car, when the light turns green you're mine. Do you think I'll care what setup you have?
For everyone who think N/A are more reliable than Turbo:

Since I read this, I'm sure I'm going to own a B18C1-Turbo

Totally true. For 8k? and thats like just a longblock?
Bare motor?
!!!
WOW! I should jack my prices up about 5k, because you and me and other shops can make like 50 more WHEEL horsepower than the Spoon longblock. For the same amount of money!
And the other one...well...the cams might break.
And there goes my 8 grand.

I have a SCGSR.......but as far as reliability: My car runs 12.80's with slicks all day long.
65k on the motor and 15k of that has been with the SC....and I drive my car hard....
