Default d16z6 in a 2000 dx coupe.. Noob needs HELP

i recently bought a d16z6 turbo motor out of a 92-95 eg and had plans to put it in my ek 2000.. it came with evrything i needed minus ecu and wiring harness/ ecu which i was told i needed. then a freind of mine tells me i need to not only change the wiring harness but the wire inside the car as well(im guessing the jumper cables). then another freind tells me all i hav to do is get a 97 ex wiring harness and a pig tail that he has that converts the obd2B to obd1. sounds new to me. and the car would work fine with a check engine light. jthey both told me diffrent htings i dont know who is ryt. i asked em if i could just take the dizzy and altrntr and buy new injectors and put it on the z6 so that my harness would fit but they say it still needs vtec wires(is it easy to wire my own vtec?)and they said it wont work becuase theres to many sesors the z6 dont come with like the crank sensor. the crank sensor looks like an easy transfer to me. i've put the motor in the car already b4 i even knew i needed more than i thought i did. does any one know the best way to approach this problem in an economic and practilce way. any feedback will help me out. thanks

ok. i just bought the jumper harness and a p28 ecu. but my stock d16 harness dose not fit the injectors clips. so im goin to bu a d16z6 harness for 30$ from a freind. will that be comaptible with the pig tail wires?

you can't put a d16z6 in a 2000, you won't pass inspection. You can only swap in your engines same year or higher. If they see d16z6, or or anything(once the see a modded civic they check) you will have to get it swapped out, etc

Plain and simple, if you get tested with that z6 motor in there, ask them for grease, maybe even a reach around. Because it wont be nice.

y8 was what my uncle told me he was giving me. but when i checked the motor it was a d16z6. gud thing was he gave it for free. and the dx motor that originaly was in there is broken. theres silver flakes in side the head. so will a d16z6 wiring harness be compatible with the pig tail and the p28 ecu?

Sell the d16z6 head and all the crap you bought for it and buy the d16y8 head. They everything will be ok or at least it should be unless you have hacked stuff up. You should have more than enough cash after selling that stuff to get the d16y8 head and everything you need.

you can use your harness. You need an 0bd2b->obd1 conversion harness for your ecu.Change out your injector plug ins from 2b->1.Lengthen your iacv wiring, also go from a 3 wire to a 2 wire.Orange gets left out.Your crank sensor plug in is not needed. Then wire up for your map sensor? what is it you have?? gm 3 bar? 2 bar? hope this helps
