Default Hasport Mount = more vibration and rattles?

Like the title says. I am curious to hear from fellow H-T'ers about there experiences with the Hasport driverside EK mount- street version. I have noticed since I installed it that not only is the vibration increased in my car, but the noise from miscellanious things rattling here and there.

To be honest it is driving me nuts.

I just would like to know if you guys and gals have had the same experience with this mount.

Thanks!

I have the street ones. On my integra they caused way too much vibration. Now on my EK/EJ I don't find it objectionable. I don't know why it's different though.

In my 99 Si Coupe, I put the 2 side mounts on first and there was a small increase in noise, but once the rear mount was put in, it increased quite a bit, both the vibrations and the overall road noise as well. I put up with it, but it can be draining if I drive long distances.

try un-tighting the bolts for the mounts (just crack them loose not all the way out) and drive the car foward and back then re torque the bolts down...it help a lot on a few cars i have worked on with aftermarket mounts that vibrate but it wont help much on the race version but for the street or OE replacement it will help

Well how do you break the mounts in?

Keep in mind I only have 1 mount from hasport. The driversid upper mount.

I bought it because it was cheaper in the long run than consistantly buying stock mounts.

It just seems like when I fix one rattle others show up.

if so what did you do to fix it?

Just put my mounts in and my car really doesnt rattle that much. Definetly notice the car is alot more stiff and I can actually tell I have a pucked clutch now.

my bolts never got lose running hasports, like mentioned above you probably didnt tighten them enough the first time. If they get lose again i would put some thread locking compound on them.

I've heard about this before. Which bolts do you crack loose??? The bolts that go through the bushings or the mounting bolts or all???

Sorry for hijacking a little....I think this info might be valuable to so other readers as well since it has to do w/ rattling.

For the thread poster....my street Hasports are quite a change from stock....you will hear things you never heard before. Your whole car will act somewhat different. My girl can't even rest her feet on my floor cause the vibration tickles her feet. Performance wise it's great though.

Its cool, and I only have one Hasport mount, not the whole set. I wanted as little vibration as possible.

Hey if it helps someone else as well I am not worried about the thread!

The rear mount's actually the most important. If you only replace it, it'll keep your motor from rocking back and forth like it does with the stock mounts. If you do all three you don't need the lower front mounts so, you can save some weight.

I replaced the driverside upper mount. Not the rear one.

Thanks for all the info guys. I tightened everything up today and it seems to be fine. I will keep my eyes out for something to change and If it does i am sure that there will be another post about it!

Have a great weekend guys!

You should try giving Innovative mounts a try. Ive felt less vibration on my own personal car by making the switch from Hasport to Innovatives. Actually in comparison, i can almost say there is no vibration at all.
