Default About Stolen ITR's --serious--

Hey, I was really giving this a thought guys. You know i come on here all the time and about a good week or 2 go by and yet another ITR is stolen. Its depressing and im sure i know how you guys feel.

But anyway my ? i was thinking about. I have a chip in my car (95 Integra) you guys know what i mean right? little black chip that wont let the car start without it. Anyhow, im pretty sure this is pretty useful for thiefs not actually "taking" the car from where ever its parked. You think they can still get around this chip, Ive talked to the very few people that i know that have it installed and they like it, of course they dont know if it works fully, without someone trying to steal the car. But in anycase, someone did break in to my car a while back and i had the chip on me, it looks like they tried to take the car because of all the wiring hanging everywhere from my stearing column etc. So all they managed to get was my stereo equipment. Anyways, let me know what you guys think

btw: dont you guys think it would be pretty neat to start having some alarms with video cameras in your car with a satelitte reception, im sure soon something like this will come, cause alarms do "nothing".

alarms do nothing and that's why you have a pager, makes them somewhat usefull especially if you sleep at odd hours of the day and are awake at those times when theives think you're sleeping.... as far as the chip goes i think most people here who've had their R's stolen and happened to have really trick alarm systems have had their cars towed, in that case a chip will do nothing. my line of thinking is the more the merrier, every extra layer of security helps but don't get lulled into a false sense of security thinking that your car is totally secure, paranoia is your friend when it comes to holding on to your r. -rob

How to steal a car:
1. break window
2. put car in neutral
3. push/drag car onto a flatbed/container trailer
If theives are determined and are reasonably intelligent, they will steal it.
