Default Pop goes the head gasket - time for a new engine?

As the topic suggests the head gasket has failed. This maybe a blessing in disguise as my poor baby has been driven hard in recent years, hitting the resale value hard.

I'm toying with the idea of a V-tech replacement lump... first time I've ever considered an engine replacement.

I currently have a 1.5 lsi 1993 honda civic coupe and need advice from the pro's...

Is this a b16a engine? Where can I source a new/ reconditioned engine from? Prices? Mods that are required etc etc... anyone who can enlighten me to any useful advice is welcome to post here!!!!

Thanks in advance!!

no offense or anything, but how retarded do you have to be to see the list of all those civic forums, and pick the one thats second furthest away from your year/engine? the furthest away being the 8th gen civic.

what do you mean? we have plenty of options, k20a, k20a2, k20a3, k24a1, k24a2, k24a4, k24a3? lots of different things you can do there with these motors.

older gens had b16, b17, b18, b20, and h22, lots of different things you can do there too. so what's the problem? they are two different generations of cars, the B series era, and the K series era.

aside from different technology between these motors, the only difference i see that people complain about is how expensive a K swap is. but that doesn't have much to do with it since B swaps were just ask expensive back in the day.
