I took off the oil pan today and when I got to the baffle plate, i notice all these metal shavings all over it. Looks like small metal pieces stuck to the oil. What could this be?

yeah, i called up one of my friends earlier today and he was talking about some gold shavings. I do see some gold shavings on the baffle plate and also some silver ones. Seems to have more silver than gold. is this a rod bearing? if so, did it mess up anything else in the bottom block? and thanks for the quick responds

 

usually the shavings mean the bearings are on the way out...That's usually what happens when I saw them..And well if the bearings go completely, I dont need to tell you what will happen next...

whats sad is the more gold and silver you see the poorer you are going to get.
