rpm tach
For quite some time now, when excellerating up to a high rpm the tach on my gauge jumps up and down. It doesn't stay at a constant rpm. Whats weird about it though is that it doesn't happen all the time. Only every once and a while. Feedback please.

In all reality it means your tachometer signal is breaking up due to some odd electrical interference. Make sure your all your connections between the distributor and the cluster are nice and tight.

The stock tach needle is jumping but everything else seems fine?
This problem is typically caused by a failing distributor igniter. Replace the igniter. OEM is about $105; a good aftermarket one is betwteen $40-50.
