Default Civic Type R OEM headlights

Hey guys... I searched but cant find out exactly what I need.

I bought a set of OEM Honda Civic Type R headlights froma reputable vendor ($500) and didn't get what I expected. Maybe you guys can shed some light.

The 99-00 Civic Type R headlights are referred to as the "Black Housing" headlights. I need to know if the housings are indeed BLACK or if they are a slightly tinted chrome.

I looked at a couple of pics on here and they look BLACK to me. They also look BLACK on the website of the vendor, and my friend's headlights from a different vendor are BLACK...but what I got was slightly tinted chrome.

(God, I sound like a friggn noob)

The real type R are lights are a tinted gunmetal chrome and it seem you received the real thing. Be sure the lights say Stanley on them to be sure they are real. And if you want black housing lights just get the oem replicas on Ebay for under 100 usd.

No, those are Type-R. SiR are the same chrome as your stock headlights, just with no reflector or diffuser.

yours are the real oem CTR..the difference between CTR and SiR..is the CTR is slightly tinted chrome..while the SiR are regular chrome just like your USDM headlights(obviously different characteristics though)..

that the box it came in? theres a honda part # sticker on there so you could try looking that up. Oh and 500 bucks is WAY too much $ to pay for that considering you couldve gotten them for like 350

he probably got them from icbmotorsport, where parts are outrageously over priced.

same exact thing happened when i got mine - I was like "these look like si-r's"

at night from certain angles they do look "black" - oem ctr's will have "stanley" "honda" (i can't remember which) on the bottom of the lense

Guys, just so we're clear, I know these are OEM honda lights...I only thought they were SiR lights instead of CTR lights. They do indeed have the Stanley logo, as well as several Honda markings on the light and box. I guess I was mistaken on what "black housing" meant.

those are ctr......i thought mine were light when i bought my first set back in the day. they darkened a bit and on the car they will look way darker because the light is shadowed the surfaces that cover it on the car....
