i just called Honda parts desk and asked for a quote onthe real genuin parts.

96-98 Civic
R-$242.68
L- $238.86

i asked why the diffrence in price for L an R, and they didnt know.

For aftermarket headlights always seal up the edges with silicone glue. This prevents/delays fogging/moisture buildup pretty well.

yea, thats what i dont want to do. if you have to seal it, then it must be defective from the start. thats why im looking for quality replacement. the genuine part is a litte too much. im gona keep looking and read other peoplse feedback on their experinces with aftermarket replacement lamps.

I had an oem headlight that was pretty hazed up so i bought one of those tyc replacements. That was definitely a mistake because the output of the tyc compared to the oem looked totally different.

If you want oem quality but you also want the black outline headlight, just do a DIY found on https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=642479

They look great and a monkey could do it.

Suck it up, use a bead of silicone on the after market ones that you get from ebay.

=edit.. ooo EK civic.. i have an eg....never mind...
most of them sell for around 100 and includes the corners in either JDM Clear or Vision Amber.

the really good ones already come prewired with city lights, all you have to do is hook it up to the parking light circuit and the ground.

You will save yourself some dough, and you can get them non-fluted, that way they are ready for HID projector retroing, when you have even more cash.

I got my Vision(amber) styled Corners from garagetuning888

i didn't do the silicone on the ambers, and they haven't leaked yet.
