couple of supercharger questions
i have been looking at going turbo for a while now but with my time and space restraints i dont have the means to do that. so i have been looking at either a jrsc or vortech. I dont really know alot about superchargers as far as if the oiling is the same as a turbo and also as far as fmu goes. im a noob so dont flame too bad, lol.
personally i like vortechs design better they are a centrifugal supercharger and the air is able to be run through an intercooler which definately helps the performance numbers the only downside is superchargers run off of your pulleys and are more drag on the motor so a turbo would be much more efficent look around there are alot of less expensive turbo kits that perform well that are equal or less in cost than jrsc or vortech
yea i know that the s.c. work off of a pulley but i was wondering if you have to run oil lines and use a missing link and use like say hondata or crome?

i say you should stick with a turbo...its not going to cost more than a supercharger. but if you really do want supercharger info, you should try the forced induction forum:

Anything putting positive pressure into the manifold will need to use larger injectors and crome/hondata/neptune or whatever. There is no need for a missing link with anyone of those programs though so no, you don't need one.
If I were you though, I would stick with a turbo setup and leave the superchargers to the promod guys. It's much more efficient, cheaper, and can make a lot more power for less cash.
But as always, it's your car so it's up to you.

ok cool I didnt really know how efficient/economical it was to have a s.c. but i did quite a bit of research today and i think im just going to lean towards the turbo setup. is there any good website on how to tune using crome? we have 1 tuner in the whole state of arkansas and all he deals with is hondata. or would there be a maybe a cheaper route that is still safe enough for a daily driver?

Dunno, but I like Crome over Hondata too.
Probably because it's free and not an overly complex and exaggerated setup like Hondata is.

That's a just reason.

thats the reason for me too. Ive heard that crome is just easier for people who wanna do it themselves. and the price of hondata is outrageous, plus i dont have the time to send in my ecu.

Jackson and Vortech are two completely different designs. Jackson is a positive displacement while Vortech is a centrifugal blower. Jackson will offer zero lag while Vortech has very high adiabatic efficiency like a turbo. I have no clue how long the Vortech will last but I have seen Jackson blowers go well over 100k miles.
