Well I fixed my leaky trunk on my 98 (56K warning)
Ok, last weekend we had a ton of rain and it flooded around my neighborhood. At the end of my road is a big dip and the water was deep but I had no choice but to drive through. As I got in it, I could hear the water and feel it hitting the floor underneath of the car. Anyways, today I was looking in my trunk and it stunk really bad. I pulled up the floor and took the spare tire out and I had 3 inches of water in the bottom! None of the carpet was wet at all so I knew it had to be the seals on the bottom of the trunk under the spare tire... Here's some pics of how I fixed it...

That's the stuff I used... it was only like 2 dollars from O'reillys...For the picky people, it's called VersaChem Super Clear Silicone Gasket Maker for windshields.

Here's the gaskets, seals, whatever you prefer to call them from the underneath of the car...

Here they are inside the trunk... this is directly underneath where the spare tire mounts.. used a flathead screwdriver to pop it out and the same on the other...

Applying the gasket sealer...

Stuffed it back in... Hopefully no leaks now, I'll let everyone know if it does but I doubt it... Same below, just closer.

I happened to notice your amp wire. Just to put it out there, its not the greatest idea to have too many splices in a thick wire. Looks like an 8awg ground wire...just thought I would put it out there.

No, actually that's 4 gauge welding cable spliced ONCE into 4 gauge stereo cable. The other tape was to keep it from being cut going through a sharp grommet hole. It's not even hooked up due to the fact that my Honda is just too rattly for my 15's
I appreciate your concern though.
