what do radius arms do? strong bar? floor chasis bar?
z10 has radius arms for civics and integras... it says reduces wheel hop for better launch, etc.
i am not into drag racing or racing in any form really, and i was wondering if these radius rods will help traction/handling very much? the arms are only advertised to help launching etc but what effect do they have on twisty roads? do they help cornering, etc?
also, the usdm itr has a strong bar in the trunk, and it fits my 00 civic. i'm wondering what a strong bar does? and what it will do for my car? is it a worthy mod? how will handling be affected, if at all?
the floor chasis bars i have heard different stories about. people who don't have it consider them to be rice (the arospeed ones)... while people witth some sort of bar (benen, etc) say they make a noticeable difference. how do these effect handling characteristics of a car? i'm going to side with those who actually have one of these on their cars...
thanks in advance

I know that on 10 sec. 88-91 Civic/CRX drag cars that the radius arms can't handle the load become permanently bent.
One solution is to use chrome-moly tubing to reinforce the radius arm.

Its all about having a stiffer chassis. A stiffer chassis typically means a more predictable suspension, if you will. As far as the radius arms are concerned, as far as I know, when you launch a Honda, because of rubber bushings and such, there is some give when you take off. Meaning, instead of the front wheels looking like this: | |, they more resemble this \ /, and you get wheel hop. Putting on the radius arms help to keep the front suspension, and your tires, 'looking' straight ahead.

Z10,
Its not just for Drag anymore.
Really, what the Z10 radius arms do is precisely locate and reinforce the lower control arm, preventing any fore-aft movement. This DRAMATICALLY improves the feel and precision of the steering. The benefits for AutoX, RR and just aggressive street driving are incredible.
I have them on my 92 hatch and they are the best money I have ever spent on the suspension.

so should i put them on my daily driver civic? i don't race, etc... are they streetable for everyday driving(as certain springs/shocks/coilovers may not be very streetable)?
also should i get shocks first or can i get away with the radius arm before i buy shocks?
