do a search.....you will find lots of information on the B20

the bottom end is strong but the sleeves a kinda weak and are prone to cracking if its not tuned properly.

my suggestion is to re-sleeve the block

for 500whp you need to re-sleeve that block......or find another B18/B20 block and have it re-sleeved then swap out the one you have now.

I dont trust b20 sleeves even in a all motor setup.
and defenetly not under boost.

Then I guess you or your tuner must suck at tuning.

I ran 15+psi pushed by a T3/T4 57trim 63ar on a B20 for over a year without any issues. Santos has buddies that run NA high CR CRVTECs and boosted stock B20s that run/ran fine. Get someone who knows how to tune and the proper fuel setup and you will be fine. If you really plan pushing 500whp for a DD sleeving wouldnt be a bad idea. There was a teg floating around with stock B20 sleeves pistons/rods pushing 450+whp... The tune makes or breaks your setup. Sorry if Im coming off as a jerk. Im just tired of everybody saying the B20 blocks are crap when they themselves have never had any personal exprience with them. People who do know the motors know that they do have a weakness in the sleeve design but they also know that it can be delt with and make decent power without any issues for long periods of time.

Search on this topic, Im sure you will find countless threads of the same BS over and over again.

Its all about the tune a B20z will take the boost if its tuned properly but for 500hp you have to sleeve it.At 500whp your pretty much going to have to sleeve any Honda motor if you want to last.

i am not disagreeing with you, BUT 1 ping on a high comp high boost b20 will usually net a cracked sleeve and catastrophic engine failure. if you are looking for reliability, and something that you can lean on and have peace of mind sleeving is the way to go.

Very true, but it doesnt take that much longer to blow a built engine... Reminds me of the quote somebody said once on here. Deatonation is like driving down the freeway and dumping a bag of money out the window. Or something of the sort. lol

right but pinging a sleeved engine takes out a piston. a stock sleeve will explode and the block is junk. atleast a sleeved engine gives you the chance of a second chance......

ok let see here,
yea you can boost your set up.. i wouldnt go over 10psi on it tho.. you should make abour 310-340... but thats all dependent on how good your set up is.. turbo size, piping flow.. TUNE!

yes the sleeves on the B20 are slightly weaker then its 81mm counterparts. but how you drive it and how its tune.. that will determine how long it last...

if 500whp is your goal... you can use a stck bore b18 with pistons and rods and save the $ off the sleeves.. or just sleeve your block or another for the added displacement....

but again the tune wil make or break your set up along with how you drive it!
