reliable 300whp b16....best way?????
I've got a 2000 civic si and later this summer want to turbo the motor and get a reliable 300-350whp, i plan on starting from the bottom up, new rods/pistons(lower compression somewhere b/w 9.0/1 to 9.5/1) and completely redo the top end cams/valves/retainers/springs and plan on pieceing together my own turbo kit so that i can have everything the way i want it...ive been looking at the new Garrett GT turbo's say maybe a GT2854R, but would love some advice on a reliable way to get that kind of power and at the same time have decent bottom end power

i say just invest in a b20 block mated with your vtec head. that alone is plenty of low and high end power. plus throw a turbo on top of that with a good tune. the heck else would you need??? more reliable than a b16 block to me anyday.

buy another b16 longblock and build it... you wont have any down time and you would have a spare if it up and tanked... but i would do a b20 block and build the rest.

if i bought a b20 block then threw in the b16crank and new rods/pistons what would i be looking at for rod/stroke ratio. and if i kept stock length rods/pistons how would that affect my compression ratio
