Default cable trans question....searched up and down

Ok it seems like a simple question to me, how do i determine if an s1 cable transmission is from an ls or b16? I've seen tons of info about the gear ratios, but how do i know for sure its a b16/ls???
TIA....I searched my *** off and couldnt find anything

The only true way is to open the transmission and do a tooth count. That is the FOR SURE method. You can then compare it to the hundreds of JDM transmission gear charts that are posted in this sites archives
